Texel Island

We have been to Texel again. Its one of my favorite places ever!

Texel is an island located in the north of the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. It is the largest of the West Frisian Islands, and it is located in the Wadden Sea, an area of shallow seas that stretches along the coast of the Netherlands, Denmark, and Germany. Texel has a population of around 13,000 people, and it is known for its beautiful beaches, dunes, and natural beauty.

Texel has a long history, with evidence of human habitation dating back to the Bronze Age. The island has always been an important center for fishing and agriculture, and it is now also a popular tourist destination. In addition to its beaches and natural beauty, Texel is home to several museums, including the Ecomare Nature Centre, which is dedicated to the preservation of the island’s unique ecosystems and wildlife.

Texel is also a popular destination for outdoor activities, such as cycling, birdwatching, and hiking. The island has a network of trails that wind through its dunes and forests, offering opportunities for exploration and enjoyment of the natural surroundings. Overall, Texel is a beautiful and historic island that offers a wide range of attractions and activities for visitors.
