In August 2024 we have been traveling to the island of Sal, Cabo Verde. It was our first time in this country and we enjoyed the great, friendly people, the moderate climate and of course scuba diving the Atlantic!! 🙂
About Cabo Verde
Cabo Verde, an island nation in the central Atlantic Ocean, consists of ten volcanic islands located off the coast of West Africa. Discovered by the Portuguese in the 15th century, it became a key stop in the transatlantic slave trade. Today, Cabo Verde is known for its rich Creole culture, blending African and Portuguese influences, and vibrant music, particularly morna. The capital, Praia, is on Santiago Island. The islands offer diverse landscapes, from beaches to mountains, and are a popular tourist destination. Cabo Verde’s economy depends on tourism, fishing, and remittances from its global diaspora.
