There’s something deeply satisfying about shooting with my Leica MP — a purely mechanical camera that turns every frame into an intentional act. On this day, I carried my black Leica MP, paired with the Summilux-M 50 mm f/1.4 in classic silver — a combination that feels perfectly balanced, both in weight and in character.
I loaded it with Ilford HP5 Plus, my favorite black-and-white film for its forgiving latitude and soft, rich tonality. Every shot reminded me why film photography continues to inspire me: the tactile click of the shutter, the anticipation of not knowing the result immediately, and the delicate grain that digital sensors still can’t truly replicate.
Around the house, I photographed small everyday moments — the Siebträger espresso machine, my guitar resting in the soft light, and the play of shadows from the lamps. These simple subjects came alive through the contrast and texture that HP5 captures so beautifully. Analog photography slows me down, makes me see differently, and reconnects me with the quiet craft of creating an image rather than just taking one.
