Great family trip to Malta!

Malta is a small island country located in the Mediterranean Sea, south of the island of Sicily, Italy. The country is made up of a group of islands, including the main islands of Malta, Gozo, and Comino. The capital and largest city is Valletta. Malta has a rich history, having been ruled by various powers, including the Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Normans, and British. The country is known for its historic sites, including the ancient temples of Mnajdra and Hal Saflieni, as well as the fortified city of Valletta, which was built by the Knights of St. John in the 16th century. Malta is also a popular tourist destination due to its warm climate, beautiful beaches, and clear blue waters.

The country has a diverse culture influenced by its history as a melting pot of civilizations, including Greek, Roman, Arab, and British culture. The official languages are Maltese and English, Maltese is a Semitic language with influences from Sicilian, Italian, and more recently, English. Malta has a Mediterranean climate, with hot summers and mild winters. The country’s economy is mostly service-based and heavily dependent on tourism.

Malta is a member of the European Union and the United Nations, and it has a parliamentary representative democracy, and is a unitary state with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government.
