Our family spent a week at the Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel, one of the most remarkable places in Oman. Originally built as a royal residence, the palace stands between the Al Hajar Mountains and the Gulf of Oman, combining majestic architecture with peaceful seaside views. The vast lobby, intricate chandeliers, and perfectly maintained gardens reflected the country’s elegance and hospitality.

Rather than touring across the country, we made day trips from the hotel — exploring Muscat’s historic landmarks, the stunning Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, and the colorful Muttrah Souk filled with spices, textiles, and handcrafted goods. Evenings often ended with walks along the private beach or quiet time by the pool, surrounded by the warm glow of the desert light.

The combination of traditional Omani design, friendly people, and the serenity of the sea made Al Bustan Palace a truly special experience — both luxurious and deeply authentic.
