Our final dive in El Quadim Bay North couldn’t have been more perfect. We entered the water in the soft morning light, descending into a reef alive with color and motion. The dive began quietly — a gentle drift over coral blocks teeming with squirrelfish and wrasses, setting the stage for what would become a spectacular finale.

Soon, we reached a field of sea anemones, home to the unmistakable Red Sea clownfish (Amphiprion bicinctus). Their vivid orange bodies contrasted beautifully with the pale green tentacles, each movement a tiny dance of territory and curiosity. Watching them dart in and out of their protective home never gets old — a true signature moment of diving in El Quseir.

Further along the reef, the colors intensified: parrotfish grazed on coral, trumpetfish hovered motionlessly in hunting mode, and the sunlight filtering through the surface revealed the reef’s incredible structure. Then, suddenly, the scene changed — a cloud of glassfish surrounded us, moving as one shimmering silver organism. It felt almost cinematic.

And then came the highlight: an octopus, perfectly camouflaged against the coral. At first, it was almost invisible — then, with one slow movement, it changed color, pulsing from beige to deep red. We watched in awe as it slid gracefully between rocks, pausing just long enough to acknowledge our presence. A magical encounter to end an unforgettable diving week.

El Quadim Bay once again proved why it’s one of the most rewarding house reefs in Egypt — full of life, easy to access, and photogenic in every direction.
