We spent the first week of September on Texel, staying in De Cocksdorp β a lovely spot at the northern end of the island. Weβve been to Texel many times before, and each visit feels like coming home to a familiar rhythm of sea, wind, and sand.
Getting there is always part of the charm β the short ferry ride from Den Helder marks the start of island time. Once on Texel, days easily blend between beach walks, watching parachutists land near the airfield, and simply enjoying the laid-back island vibe.
We loved seeing the colorful beach huts lined up along the coast, spotting the famous Texel sheep in the fields, and ending the day with a cold Texels beer in hand. No matter how many times we visit, Texel always manages to recharge us β calm, natural, and unmistakably Dutch.
