Autobahn at Night – Aerial Light Trails Above the Highway 🚁🌙

On this March evening in 2015, we captured the Autobahn from above just as daylight faded into the blue hour. From the air, the highway turned into a glowing network of red and white light trails, carving dynamic shapes through the landscape. The looping ramps and circular interchanges became striking geometric patterns, almost abstract in their symmetry.

Shooting long exposures with the drone revealed the flow of traffic in a way we never see from the ground — a mix of motion, rhythm, and the quiet stillness of the surrounding fields and villages. The result is a series of images that blend infrastructure and artistry, transforming everyday highways into luminous night sculptures.
