Exploring light, geometry, and spontaneous ideas in a modern architectural setting
This series was created during a photography workshop with Lars Wunderlich, focused on portrait photography, perspective, light control, and creative use of location. The images show how much visual variety can be achieved in just one place when you experiment with shapes, angles, and available light.
The workshop took place in a clean, modern architectural environment. Vertical metal slats, hard edges, and minimalistic corridors provided perfect backdrops for portraits with a graphic, urban look. The combination of natural light, directional shadows, and reflective surfaces enabled a wide range of styles — from soft, flattering portraits to dramatic high-contrast silhouettes.
Highlights of the session include:
- Headshots and close-ups using soft window light
- High-contrast black-and-white portraits against vertical slats
- Movement and silhouette experiments against bright architectural openings
- Low-angle sitting poses for relaxed and urban aesthetics
- Creative exercises, such as balancing on pillars or staged action shots
- An experimental portrait with a vintage / tilt-shift look, created through selective focus
The workshop demonstrated how experimenting with angles, light, and the environment leads to more dynamic portrait results. This session blends learning, creativity, and fun — exactly what makes a great photography workshop.
