December 27, 2015 – January 10, 2016
Our two-week Caribbean adventure aboard the AIDAluna began with excitement at the airport — the destination board already promising sun and sea with places like Montego Bay, Belize City, and Grand Cayman. After months of anticipation, we were finally off to explore the colorful world of the Caribbean together as a family.
🇯🇲 Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Our first stop was Ocho Rios, a vibrant port full of rhythm, colors, and smiles. The scent of jerk chicken filled the air as reggae beats played in the background. We explored the port, met friendly locals, and enjoyed the relaxed island pace. Jamaica’s energy was contagious — a perfect start to our cruise.
🇩🇴 Dominican Republic – Cueva de las Maravillas
Sailing on, we reached the Dominican Republic, where we visited the fascinating Cueva de las Maravillas. Deep inside the cave, ancient Taino petroglyphs told stories of the island’s early inhabitants. Outside, lush green fields stretched to the horizon under a dramatic Caribbean sky — a reminder of nature’s timeless beauty.
🇧🇿 Belize City, Belize
A few days later, we anchored off Belize City, surrounded by turquoise water and tropical air. Belize was pure adventure — mysterious Mayan ruins hidden in the jungle, rivers winding through rainforests, and the incredible Great Blue Hole not far away. For us, the most memorable part was exploring the coast by boat, spotting manatees and crocodiles along the way 🐊.
🇰🇾 George Town, Grand Cayman
Our next destination was George Town on Grand Cayman — home to the famous Stingray City. Standing in shallow turquoise water, we met wild stingrays gliding gracefully around us. It was a magical, unforgettable experience, especially for Simon, who couldn’t stop smiling after gently touching one. Later, we relaxed on Seven Mile Beach — white sand, palm trees, and the calm rhythm of island life.
🌊 Days at Sea
Between the islands, life aboard AIDAluna was wonderfully peaceful. We spent our sea days soaking up the sun, watching endless horizons, and enjoying the ship’s relaxed atmosphere. The Caribbean sunsets — with glowing orange skies fading into deep blue — became our favorite moments of the day 🌅.
Every port, every day, brought a new story — from lively markets to quiet beaches and friendly faces. This cruise was more than just a journey across islands — it was a journey through cultures, colors, and unforgettable family memories.
