Our next stop on the cruise brought us to Las Palmas, the vibrant capital of Gran Canaria. The city greeted us with warm light, colorful streets, and a relaxed island atmosphere. We explored the harbor area, where cargo ships and fishing boats share space with sailboats and cruise liners — a mix of industry and leisure that defines the island’s character.

Walking through the old town and small coastal villages, we discovered narrow alleys, bright facades, blue-painted doors, and everyday island life — from locals chatting on balconies to market vendors and children playing. The beach at Maspalomas with its dunes and red umbrellas added a final burst of color before returning to the ship.

Las Palmas felt both authentic and artistic — full of texture, history, and gentle coastal charm.
