Olden – Serenity at the Innvikfjord

Black and white photo of mountains with snow, clouds, and a waterfall cascading down rocky cliffs.

Olden, tucked deep within the Innvikfjord, feels like a place suspended in time — where mountains, water, and sky blend seamlessly into silence. On this morning, low clouds wrapped around the peaks like soft ribbons, revealing glimpses of light and shadow in slow motion. The landscape shifted between black-and-white drama and vivid blue calm, every view a painting waiting to happen.

We followed the valley toward the Briksdal Glacier, its icy blue tongue stretching down between steep cliffs and green forest. Standing there, it was impossible not to feel small — nature’s power carved in stone and ice. Down by the water, the fjord reflected the world like a mirror, broken only by ripples of wind.

One moment stayed with us most: a heart-shaped rock overlooking the calm fjord. It seemed to symbolize Olden perfectly — pure, quiet, and deeply human in its natural poetry. A place that doesn’t ask to be photographed, but rewards those who take the time to see.
