We spent two beautiful weeks on the island of Sal in Cape Verde, staying in Santa Maria, a town full of color, rhythm, and friendly faces. It’s one of those places where time slows down and every moment feels simple yet vibrant.

Days started early with the sun over the Atlantic, and the air already warm with that salty ocean breeze. We loved wandering through the lively streets of Santa Maria, watching the fishermen prepare and sell fresh fish right on the pier β€” a scene full of life, laughter, and local energy.

One of the most memorable experiences was riding bicycles through the desert-like landscapes inland, surrounded by sand, wind, and endless horizons. The contrast between the quiet desert and the vivid coastal town made the island feel truly special.

And, of course, scuba diving in the Atlantic was a highlight β€” crystal-clear water, volcanic reefs, and a mix of tropical and Atlantic marine life. It’s a place that reminds you how powerful and peaceful the ocean can be.

Sal is all about colors, people, and nature β€” simple, honest, and unforgettable.
