Our cruise brought us to Cádiz, one of Europe’s oldest cities, full of southern light and character. The old town’s narrow streets opened into small squares lined with pastel houses, wrought-iron balconies, and colorful street art. Everyday life unfolded at a slow rhythm — locals chatting by open windows, small fishing boats resting on the sand, and dogs strolling along the promenade.
The Mercado Central de Abastos was a highlight: vibrant fish stalls displaying fresh octopus, swordfish, and tuna, with passionate vendors calling out prices. Outside, vivid wall textures, urban details, and splashes of bright color gave the city a unique visual energy. From the harbor and beaches, the Atlantic shimmered in the afternoon sun — a fitting reminder that Cádiz has been shaped by the sea for centuries.
