A week of sunshine, turquoise water, and island rhythm! Our Caribbean journey aboard Mein Schiff took us through one of the most fascinating regions in the world — the Caribbean, a vast area of over 7,000 islands, islets, and reefs, spread across more than 2.7 million square kilometers of the Caribbean Sea. About 30 island nations and territories belong to this region, each with its own culture, language, and flavor — from the English-speaking islands like Barbados and Antigua to the French and Dutch Caribbean.

We discovered colorful streets, colonial architecture, and lively markets filled with tropical fruits and reggae sounds. Between palm-fringed beaches and rainforest-covered hills, the Caribbean offered an amazing mix of relaxation and adventure. One peaceful highlight was visiting a butterfly garden, surrounded by hundreds of wings shimmering in the sunlight. Each evening, as the sun melted into the horizon, we enjoyed the calm sea breeze and the joy of a simple father-and-son journey — full of warmth, wonder, and discovery.
