Bergen greeted us with its familiar mix of rain-soaked charm and vivid street life. The old wooden houses leaned into narrow lanes, their yellow and white façades marked by history and time. Every street corner revealed a story — a man lost in thought, a musician with quiet eyes, or a child chasing color through the cobblestones. The city feels alive in its small details, always balancing between nostalgia and modern rhythm.
We wandered through the local markets, where the smell of seafood mingled with laughter and everyday conversation. Vendors served fresh salmon and local specialties under red awnings, while the harbor shimmered beyond — boats rocking gently against the quay. Bergen’s energy is not loud, but steady, carried by its people.
Later, we stepped into another world — the Magic Ice Bar, glowing in blue light and filled with crystal sculptures frozen in time. Bottles embedded in walls of ice, a frozen Viking ship, and a skeletal figure trapped in frost — it felt surreal and cinematic, like walking through a dream at minus five degrees.
Outside again, the city unfolded below from the hillside: red rooftops, calm harbor, and smoke curling into the mountain air. Bergen is a place of contrasts — warmth in faces, chill in the air, and endless stories in between.
